Daniel Baines

Hi my names Dan, I've been instructing in the outdoor industry since 2014 working at many different centres and organisations up and down the UK from Cornwall to the Lake District, which is where I'm based now.

My interest in the outdoors started with my time in scouting being part of the organisation since the age of 6 and still continue as a scout leader now.

In the outdoors I'd call myself very much as an all rounder, I climb, paddle and can be seen regularly with a bow in my hand, but my favourite activity has to be outdoor trad climbing and getting the chance to climb in now places all over the world.

I started freelancing in 2021 after a tough 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic. This is also the same time I started my own company called Genuine Adventures a small company with the hope to grow in time. My businesses main activity when I started was archery tag a new up and coming activity the combines the skills of archery and dodgeball into one, a bit like paintball you split into 2 team and the objective is to shoot the opposition with your foam tipped arrows before they get you first.

For 2023 I have been able to grow the business and will start offering stand up paddle board guided tours, rock climbing sessions and ghyll scrambling as wells the fun archery based activities that I was running before. I will be running these activities all over the South Lake area.
